The Pittsburgh Steelers have many issues and one of those is at wide receiver for the 2012-2013 season. Mike Wallace has been one of their more consistent players in recent years and has wanted a long-term contract. The Steelers for their part have tried to work out a deal, but as of right now the sides are not close to getting an agreement long-term. The best place to start in getting behind the scenes of the Steeler Nation for 2012 is with this year’s recruiting class. This season the mighty Steelers drafted Miami linebacker Sean Spence in the third round of the draft. They also recruited David DeCastro at Offensive Guard and Mike Adams at Offensive Tackle in round two.

Most football fans and players have automatically assumed that the Pittsburgh Steelers would most likely bring back Byron Leftwich as a back-up quarterback to Ben Roethlisberger for the 2012 season. However, it now appears that there is another team interested in Leftwich, as well. They are the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts have expressed interest in Leftwich so that he can help teach their number one draft pick the offensive coordinator, Bruce Arians’, system. Leftwich and Arians worked together for 3 seasons while both were actively with the Pittsburgh Steelers, says the Pittsburgh Tribune.The (more…)
